Ana Riverola de Veciana

Ana Riverola de Veciana received the PhD degree in Medicine in 1995 from Universitat de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. She was certified as a Neonatal Resuscitation Teacher by the Spanish Society of Neonatology in 2004 and in NIDCAP by the NIDCAP International Federation (NIF) in 2010. In 2011 she became a member of the steering committee of the Neonatal Department at Hospital Sant Joan de D´eu (HSJD), Barcelona, Spain and is currently a Senior Consultant in Neonatology at HSJD. For the past years much of her work has been for the improvement of care for extremely preterm newborns, with a focus on developmental centered care.

Her major research interests include preterm morbidities (such as patent ductus arteriosus) and neonatal cardiac malformations. And more recently, the analysis of the NICU environment and its impact on preterm newborns.
