Karen B. Hirschman

Karen B. Hirschman is a Research Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and the NewCourtland Term Chair in Health Transitions Research at the University of Pennsylvania. Karen’s research interests involve transitions in care, palliative care, and caregiver burden; with a specific emphasis on older adults with cognitive impairment. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
