Peter Jancovic

Peter Jančovič received the BSc and MSc degrees in Information Technology from the Slovak University of Technology, Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2002, he was awarded the PhD degree for his work in the field of noise robust speech recognition from the School of Computer Science, Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering, University of Birmingham, UK. He served as an Organizing and Technical Committee Member for several international and UK conferences, such as, Interspeech 2009. He is a co-organizer of the special session ‘Speech, audio, and language processing techniques applied to bird and animal vocalizations’ at Interspeech 2016. He has been responsible for research grants with total value of £2M. He has published over 70 scientific papers. He is a senior member of IEEE. His research interests are in data analysis, signal processing and pattern recognition, in particular applied to audio, speech and music.
